Battery management controller

A pack controller built for commercial LFP strings. It watches every cell, balances drift before it becomes capacity loss, and negotiates charge and discharge current with the inverter in real time. Where most systems hand you a single state-of-charge figure, the OPF BMS streams the full picture — max, min and delta per pack — so a failing cell shows up weeks before it strands your asset.

Wall or rack mounted, isolated CAN and RS485 on the plant side, and MQTT straight to storage/<site>/rt with no vendor cloud in the path.

OPF P1

Smart meter interface

A compact reader that plugs into the P1 port of a smart meter and turns the utility's own measurements into a live stream. It is the ground truth every optimisation depends on: what you actually import, what you actually export, and on which phase. No current clamps to calibrate, no drift, no arguments with the grid operator about what happened.

The port powers it, so installation needs no electrician and no spare breaker — plug it in, join it to Wi-Fi, and data starts flowing within a minute.

Edge protocol gateway

Every site arrives with a different inverter, a different meter and a different idea of what a register map should look like. The Bridge absorbs that. It speaks Modbus TCP and RTU, CAN and raw sockets on the plant side, and one clean MQTT contract on the cloud side — so adding a new brand of inverter becomes a config change instead of a project.

It also keeps the site safe on its own: export caps and SOC floors are enforced at the edge, and every dispatch instruction is acknowledged back on storage/<site>/cmd/ack.

OPF Shield

OT/IT security for storage sites

A battery that answers to a network is only as trustworthy as that network. Shield is the security layer around it: every device carries its own certificate, every command is signed and attributable, and the plant network is segmented so a compromised inverter cannot reach the meter, let alone the contactor.

Sites hold no inbound ports open. Connections are outbound-only over mutually authenticated TLS, engineers arrive through WireGuard, and anything unusual on the Modbus or MQTT side — an unexpected register write, a command from the wrong identity — is blocked at the edge and raised in the audit trail.

The screen operators actually live in. Every site, every pack, every price interval in one console: live telemetry, the optimiser's plan for the next 24 hours, and the manual override for when someone needs to take the wheel.

Dispatchers get the full control surface; asset owners get a read-only view of their own fleet and nothing else. Actions raised here are carried out by the dispatcher agent, so every instruction is queued, executed and acknowledged rather than fired blindly at a device.

The box that gets a field site online and keeps it there. Dual SIM cellular with automatic failover, four switched Ethernet ports for the inverter, meter and Bridge, and a WireGuard tunnel that gives your engineers a way in without exposing anything to the open internet.

Built for cabinets rather than desks: DIN mount, 9–48 V input, wide temperature range and a watchdog that power-cycles the modem before anyone has to drive out to the site.
